There are moments in business you can’t script, and this week delivered one with the comedic timing of a sitcom filmed in my bathroom.
My 11-year-old son and I were recording a Gutsy Cleaner demo — nothing fancy, just a quick little video at the sink to show how the magic works. He held the camera. I held the spray bottle. My dog, Fudge, trotted in to spectate like the world’s cutest production assistant.
I lined up the shot. Smiled. Squeezed the trigger.
Nothing.
I squeezed again.
Still nothing.
My son was trying not to laugh.
I was laughing.
The bottle was dead inside. 💀
There is a special kind of humility that comes from being betrayed by your own cleaning product while filming proof that it works.
I shook it. Adjusted it. Tried to charm it. Even gave it a little pep talk.
Still nothing.
Finally, after wrapping the nozzle in a towel and performing what can only be described as citrus CPR, the bottle sputtered back to life. We high-fived. Fudge wagged. The demo lived to see another day.
Here’s the truth no one talks about: behind every polished product photo or cute demo is at least one moment where things fall apart… and you decide to laugh anyway.
Those are my favorite parts.
They’re the heartbeat of Limonista — real, imperfect, joyful, slightly chaotic, and always citrus-powered.
You can see the full video here. (this time with a working nozzle).
And may all your spray bottles cooperate on the first squeeze. 🍋💛
